Beauty that cares | 4 brands that recycle your empties

Hello everybody, as i have a long for skincare and travel I’m also trying my best to be more conscious of the waste I generate along the way. I cannot say the role model of being green and environmental focus, but I’m learning every day and I do my best to be more mindful about it. As I say before Is better to do the imperfect thing and get better than be 1 person that is perfect all the time.

I have been paying more attention to products, packing and brands that are doing an effort to be more eco-friendly I have found great brands that have amazing recycle programs that contributes to minimize the waste, here a few that I have used and think they are great programs.

Kiehls

Kiehl’s have had its Recycle and be rewarded program for years and I have used it several times. The program is simple: return your empty product packing or shop with a reusable bag and you received 1 stamp on your loyalty card. After 10 stamps you will receive a travel size product of your choice. Great way to try a new product and continue with the environment.

L’occitane

Refill, recycle, rethink is a program in partnership with Terracycle. You can bring your empty beauty & skincare product from L’occitane or Any other brand to be recycled and you will receive a 10% discount on a new product. On the web page you can find the stores that received empty packing and what type of packing is allowed. Also L’occitane have for most of the liquid soaps a refillable bags that uses less plastic.

Lush

Lush is known to use a minimum packaging as possible, but they do have use plastic for their liquids and creams products and they are they black iconic pots. But you can bring 5 empties of those black pots and you will receive a free mask. Great trade!

MAC cosmetics

The Back To M·A·C Program cosmetics recycling program has the one I have used the most and since years ago, I think they were the pioneers in the makeup industry to have a program like this. SO here is how it works: By returning 6 MAC packaging containers to a MAC counter or store, you will receive a free M·A·C lipstick of your choice as a thank you. I love it!

I’m always eager to know about other recycling programs, if you know a good one, share it! the more information we have the more we can learn and improve

Have a great day!
