Neutrogena Hydro Boost Face Serum with Hyaluronic Acid review

I love a good hyaluronic acid serum. It is the perfect shot of hydration regardless your type of skin. It is like have a glass of water and helps your skin to maintain hydration and looks plumper. There are many good products in the market for different budgets and today’s I will go for a drugstore option.

The Company

Brand: Neutrogena

Country: United States

Story: It started as a small company called Natone where they developed the first formula of a clear mild clear soap that cleared the skin, without drying it. This product became a success with dermatologist. After that they created a good price skincare line, and the rest is history.

Most known product: Original Amber Bar Facial Cleansing Bar

Since: Est. 1930

Owned by: Johnson & Johnson

Cruelty free: No, as they sell in mainland China.

The Product

It is a light serum that it is designed to revitalize and brighten dull, tired skin, this face serum instantly quenches dry skin while helping to improve its moisture barrier against reoccurring dryness for hydrated, supple skin that glows.

Main ingredients: Glycerin, vitamin E, niacinamide and hyaluronic acid

Texture: serum

Suitable for sensitive skin: no, as it has fragrance. Test it on your hand before buying just in case.

For whom is good: is targeted for dry skins, but I think this will be the perfect hydrating serum for oily skins in summer as it is very light and non-comedogenic

Free of: parabens

Vegan: No

Shelf life: 12 months

Size: 30ml (1 fL. oz).

Packaging: Plastic bottle. It comes in a box

My Review

My review: This is a beautiful hydrating serum, it is light, fast absorbing and really keeps your skin hydrating. It is perfect for using it all year round, but I think is perfect for summer as you want to be hydrated without the heaviness of a cream.

Oily skins will love it as it won’t clog pores and does not leave a greasy feeling on your skin, and the price is very budget friendly. Win-win.

How I used: Daily, on my morning skincare routine, after my vitamin C serum.

Why I liked the most: how fast my skin absorbed it and how hydrated it was.

How long did it last: 2 months

Pecas’s score: 3/5. Good

Will but it again: no. Even though it is a good product, Neutrogena is not a cruelty free company, and I am choosing from now on to buy from cruelty free company. But if this is not a priority for you, this is a good product to use.

Where you can buy it: you can buy directly from Neutrogena page, Amazon or drugstore on your home country.

Price:

Sustainability

Like many big companies they have a page on the website dedicated to their efforts on sustainability. And based on their report this year they are launching a more sustainable skincare line and making efforts to improve their packaging. But they still sell the most famous makeup wipe (thanks to Kim Kardashian), which is still not recyclable.

Sustainability score: 2/5

Note: I purchased the product myself and there are no affiliate links in this post.
