As I changed job this year my commute has reduced considerably, so I started to have a lot of free time. Coincidentally a new gym open 5 min walking from my home and I decided to join and resume doing exercise on a regularly basis. I want to also regain my love for running that I lost last year.
I go to the gym 3-4 times per week and usually after work so I need a well prepared bag with all the goodies to have a great sweat at the gym. So I came up with what is in my bag and I what I consider the essentials to bring to the gym. (PS: this list will evolve over time).

Bag: I like bags that have different compartments so I can store things and find them easily. Also I prefer if they have a separate space to put your shoes. Currently I’m using this Adidas bag, but is not available anymore, but there are many great alternatives in the market.
Towel: Some gyms might supply towels, but trust me, you don’t want to be stuck without it and I prefer to use mine. I choose the microfiber ones as they absorb better and occupy less space. this set from Amazon is great.
Hair ties: Personally I can’t work out with hair in my face. It drives me crazy. And if a hair tie breaks mid-workout, what’s a girl to do? It’s always a good idea to have some extra hair ties in your gym bag just in case.
Water bottle: Invest in a good bottle lightweight and easy to use.
Deodorant: a must, I don’t really need to expand on this one, do I? Mine is Dove go fresh cucumber & green tea spray.
Dry shampoo: It really helps to absorbs the sweat from my hair and feel a little fresher after my session.The one I really like is this one from Klorane.
Hair brush: this simple brush with a compact size is perfect for a gym bag. It’s small, conquers the after-gym tangles and quite cheap as well.
Antibacterial gel: I always keep a little bottle just in case.
Gloves: If you do weights, having gloves to protect you hands is essential, so you prevent to develop callus or hardened skin.
Body mist: I like to spray a little bit just before my workout and smells good in a gym full of sweaty people. I use a Victorias’s secret mist and I put it in this little container so I don’t have to bring the big bottle in my bag.
Watch: I use my apple watch to track my activity during the day and also is sync with the Nike running app to track my running. I love it.
Ear buds: I’m getting used to this wireless ones that my boyfriend recommend me they last up to 5 hours of use.
Wipes (only if necessary): I usually don’t like to use wipes, as for me is a waste, but I have a package of them just in case I need to clean up a machine or my face. I only buy biodegradable ones line the ones from Simple.
Toiletry case: I carry all my toiletries I mentioned above in this compact case I founded very cheap.
