Dermalogica Biolumin-c serum review

The product I will share today, is the third product I tried from the Caroline Hirons Autumn kit I bought in November 2020. I’m a fan of Dermalogica products as they are efficient and very good quality. Also, As one of my favorite products is a good vitamin C serum I’m always in the hunt to try new ones.

Let’s get down to business

Brand: Dermalogica, created by Jane Wurwand. There is a very interesting podcast where you can hear jane telling the story about how she created the brand. Dermalogica: Jane Wurwand : How I Built This with Guy Raz

Country: United States

Purpose: Exfoliates and reduces unbalanced pigmentation and reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Main ingredients: Vitamin C, Lactic acid, Sophora Japonica Flower Extract and Chia Seed oil

Texture: serum

Suitable for sensitive skin: Yes

For whom is good: all skin types.

Free of: parabens, mineral oil & fragrance

Vegan: Yes

Cruelty free: Yes

Size: 59 ml / 2 fl oz.

Shelf life: 12 months

Packaging: Glass bottle with pipette

My Opinion: It is a very thick serum with a light yellow color. The bottle is opaque which helps to prevent the oxidation of the serum.

It has a very subtle citrus scent but nothing too strong. When you apply it takes a little while for the skin to absorbs it.

When I used it the first week, I saw some results right away, because it had a hydrating effect and my skin definitely appeared brighter. Also, my skin really likes lactic acid.

Overall, my skin liked the serum as it helps to hydrated and brighter. But it did not compare of the effects of my favorite Vitamin C of all time which is the one from Kiehl’s. Although is a good product the price for me does not justify the performance. But if you like Dermalogica, maybe you can try the smaller version (30ml).

How I used it: I used it in my morning routine, after my cleanser, on dry skin.

How long did it last: 4 months

What I like the most: The hydrating effect that had on my skin.

Score: 3/5. Good.

Sustainability score: Good. It comes in a glass bottle and in a card box

Will I repurchase it: No, for me there are better options for better price

Where you can buy it: you can buy directly from Dermalogica page or big niche beauty retailers in your home country

Price: 86€ |$89| £85

Note: I purchased the product reviewed and there are affiliate links in this post
