I love TikTok. I think it is a fun, fresh and dynamic app that you can spend time laughing on funny videos but also you can learn some cleaning hacks (yes I’m obsessed), cooking recipes (remember the feta pasta? and you can learn some great beauty tips and products.
If a product goes viral on TikTok you can bet it will be sold out everywhere (ex: Maybelline Sky High mascara or the Loreal Infallible foundation and many more). As many great beauty tips are being shared there are also very bad and dangerous. Here are a few that you should avoid because they are harmful.

.
SPF contouring
A trend went viral that applying sunscreen only to the points on your face you want to ‘highlight’ to create a natural contour whilst sunbathing. Some of the dangers involved include sun exposure that could result in ageing, fine lines and wrinkles as well as discoloration or even skin cancer.
Never mees up with SPF!! use it for protection not to create a look!
Applying lemon juice to brigthen your skin
First, NO, second of all, hell no!
Yes, Vitamin C is an excellent ingredient for you skin, as it is an antioxidant and helps even the tone and make it brighter. But that don’t mean you can apply the fruit that has it directly to your skin.
While vitamin C is great for brightening the skin, raw lemon juice should not be applied to the skin. This can disrupt the natural pH of skin, spread bacteria, and make skin sensitive to sunlight, “burning your skin” and generating a dark spot that takes ages to remove.
Slugging
Slugging is an old trend from the 80’s that involve involves slathering your face with Vaseline or petroleum jelly overnight in a bid to hydrate the skin. and It has its benefits, but not for everybody. Vaseline what it does it acts like a coat that “seals” the skin and don’t allow it to lose hydration, so it stays nice and hydrated. But on the other hand, is occlusive, which mean that block pores so if you have oily skin you must stay away from this trend because it worse you skin rather than helping it. You can lock oil in it as well.
If you have acne or breakouts forget about, run like Forrest Gump in the opposite direction
While the app gives tons of valuable information, there also a lot of dangerous hack. Please be careful when is related to your skin or health.
What is the weirdest beauty hack have you seen on TikTok?
