Beauty travel tip | 7 tips to pack liquids in your carry on

Is no secret the space limitations we faced when travelling through an airport with a carry on and if you like me that likes to use a lot of different products (skincare and makeup) that little 1L bag becomes super small.

over the years travelling for work and leisure I have found some tips that have helped me optimize the most my liquids travel case.

I travel with 3 travel cases: 1 for liquids, 1 for solids and 1 for makeup brushes and accessories. I have found 7 tricks that help me optimize that little bag.

SOAP/BODY GEL

Change your liquid soap for a bar one (or use the one in your hotel/ Accommodation): If you don’t mind using the soap or body gel provided in your accommodation then use it so you saved that space. But of you prefer to carry you own soap, then I suggest using a bar soap. You can cut in a smaller bar, depending the length of tor trip. Then you can put it in another case (for me will be the one I use for solid products).

DEODORANT

In my daily life I use an aerosol deodorant and my favorite is Dove. Although Dove has very practical travel size format, it still needs to be in the liquids travel case. So instead on packing that I choose to pack the solid version of that deodorant. and here I can use a normal size when I don’t find a travel size one.

FOUNDATION

We all have our go-to foundation, but usually is not very practical to decant it, so the best way to optimize your packing without sacrificing beauty, yo can use stick foundation. This format has become very popular in the last few years and now many of high end and drugstores brands have stick foundation they are perfect as some times you can use them as concealer. (2 for 1). The one I really like are is the Skin Stick foundation by Bobbi Brown.

SUNSCREEN

Great news is that now SPF comes is so many different formats that is easy to choose. Now you can find SPF very effective in solid format (stick) or even powder (for retouch during the day). My favorites stick and powder ones are: Stick – Clear Stick UV Protector WetForce SPF 50+ Sunscreen & Powder – Fotoprotector ISDIN SunBrush Mineral SPF 30.

PERFUME

Decant your perfume in a small container. this has been a game changer. in the past I usually rely on samples (but I didn’t have enough of my favorite perfumes) or pack my perfume without the cap to optimize space. But I discovered this little container specially for perfume that you can fill very easy and last at least for 4 days) and is very compact. I bought mine in a drugstore called Etos here in NL, but you can find it anywhere and by different brands.

NAIL POLISH REMOVER

Use single use nail polish wipes and with a couple you will be good to go for a short trip.

SAMPLES

And finally, another space saver are samples. Yes, this will stay in your liquid travel case, but it will save space and once you use it, you dispose it and you will have more space on your travel back home. I collect in a box all the samples I received in stores, purchases, etc. so I can optimize space and try new products.

Do you have any other great tip to maximize the space on your liquid travel case?
